Day 173-February 20, 2013

I whipped up a batch of oatmeal cookies before heading out to book club.  The oven overheated, so I burned the first batch.  I hope it's nothing major.  The chatter about Wild was grand.  Susan B read a lovely excerpt from Sugar, a pen name of the author, about the ghost life.  She shared a video clip too.  There was talk about mothers and sex and women's oppression around the world.  It's funny that our next reading, The Paris Wife, will be about Hemmingway.  I just love the ladies present!  Denise's daughter, Rebecca, was there too.  She's expecting her first baby, and she's also a teacher.  I visited the bird food store and the library before checking out a home on Heather Lane off of Rector Road in Nevada City.  I just kind of relaxed in the afternoon, doing some research, sorting and cleaning.  I made a delicious shrimp pasta dish for supper.
