We rode 8 miles with over 1200 feet of elevation gain. It was overcast and cold, but the rain confined itself to spots on our drive. The fall colors and carpet of leaves were splendid. Laurie made a delicious early dinner for us all. No TV at home, so early to bed with a book again.

Day 71-November 10, 2012
A cacophony of bird talk accompanied my morning walk with Karly. It was like they were trying to decide where to go next with so many threatening clouds in the sky. Or they were describing their adventures in yesterday's storm. With threatening skies we headed out for a bicycle ride at Bullards Bar. A stop at Grocery Outlet for more wine and Nevada City Farmer's Market for fresh veggies was the first leg of the journey. I got three bags full of winter squash, peppers, and potatoes, a flat of romas, heads of lettuce and napa cabbage, all from Riverhill Farm. I'll be roasting peppers and tomatoes on Tuesday.
