Day 44-October 14, 2012

The perfect day for a motorcycle ride.  After morning chores and some glamour time, we headed back up to Pack Saddle campground to look for my reading glasses.  I couldn't find them anywhere and I thought they may have gotten knocked to the dirt from the camp table.  No glasses.  We checked with the camp hosts, no glasses.  But we did chat with them for awhile, nice folk about our age enjoying this 7 months of the year job.  Beautiful fall colors.
Driving 89 on the way back we stopped at the Donner Party Alder Creek camp.  I walked the interpretive trail.  Interesting.  After lunch in Truckee, we found 1000 year old petroglyphs on the rocks near Donner Pass on the old Highway 40 route.  We wandered about looking for the snow shed trails to motorcycle or hike, we found one with a Union Pacific Railroad no trespassing sign.  I love seeing new things.
Home for a relaxing quiet eve.
