September 2013

We woke up to five deer in our yard this morn, four bucks and a doe.  The doe was inside my raspberry patch fence. Three mornings ago on my morning walk, I saw a healthy bobcat with a bright white tail.  These special moments are treasured memories, and I enjoy reading about them again.
Last week on my birthday, I couldn't remember what I had done on my birthday the year before.  I simply looked it up on my blog.  Oh yeah, I remember...  I've decided to continue to write as retirement from teaching continues.  I wake up each day ever so grateful.
Today is Trevor's birthday, the 18th of the month.  In September we worked most every day until my birthday on upgrading the Partridge rental house including painting the inside and outside.  We spread gravel and painted on my birthday, then joined Mom and Pop and Eddie at Humpty Dumpty for lunch.  When I got home I jumped in the pool to cool off and clean up, plopped in the bed with my book, and read and napped the rest of the day away.  It was great.  My birthday adventure was an epic adventure on the GSes, Eddie, Fred, and I.  We drove up to Tahoe, a hint of fall in the air.  We rode a 23 mile loop up to Barker Pass on an OHV trail.  As it got gnarly, I got off and hiked.  Next we passed Bear Lake, it got rough again, then onto the Rubicon Trail, and again, the last two miles were very rocky.  I figure I walked about 5 miles.  Eddie and Fred muscled the bikes through the rough road, each putting it down once.  We had big smiles.  It was a Go Pro day, but we didn't have the camera.  I got a few pics from my phone.
Last week five week old Paxton got to come to GrandMuM and Grampa's house with his family.  He got to meet more of the family.  Family dinners and cozy home time was enjoyed by all.  E'lora has graduated to her own room.  She explored as she was putting herself to sleep.  I suspect she'll start reading books to go to sleep soon.
