I received my first morning phone call begging me to sub. I declined because one, I'm not bonefide, and two, today is a grandMuMMing day. I was determined to complete my raspberry patch, planting the last five plants and covering them with pine needle compost before it was time to pick up my precious little one. Mission accomplished.
Alexa and I together grocery shopped. She remembered Aday from last week, the produce man gave her another slice of crisp sweet apple. When Precious was settled for her nap, she needed to settle because DADDY!!! was here working on the tile, I layered up a casserole of lasagne for our weekend jaunt to Virginia City. I focused on cooking and packing so we could depart close to 4. We left for the ranch at 4:08. Alexa was enjoying our grand adventure, strapped in the car seat in the cab of our truck. She knew something fun was up.
When we got to The Ranch, Fred noticed he forgot the ice chest. He raced back to our house while we shuttled up to the big barn in the golf cart. Golf cart rides are true moments of adventure for kids. Once we were all loaded up, we met Jen at her work to deposit Alexa. We hit the trail. Tinker Station at Soda Springs was the perfect spot for supper. We happened to meet a fella Fred had heard of in relation to the sale of Agate. Serendipity. No, his name was Peterson, or something like that. We drove on to Virginia City and settled in under a cold crisp clear sky. It was easy to lie down in our cozy beds and dream of the adventures to come.
